Returns & Refund Policy

Scope

This policy applies to all purchases from Plyman and Timberman, which are trading names of Plywood R Us Ltd (“we”, “our”, “us”). Brand references below include both trading names.

Your rights under NZ law (CGA)

We comply with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. If a product is faulty or not as described, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund, depending on the nature of the issue. Nothing in this policy limits your CGA rights.

Change-of-mind returns (store policy)

Change-of-mind returns are offered at our discretion on the following terms:

  • Return window: within 30 days of delivery or pick-up.
  • Condition: items must be stocked, unused, in resalable condition, and in original packaging (including accessories and documentation).
  • Return shipping: customer pays unless otherwise agreed in writing. Risk in transit remains with the customer until received and inspected by us.
  • Refund method & timing: refunds to the original payment method within 5–10 business days of inspection.
  • Restocking: a 0–15% restocking fee may apply to cover inspection and handling. Restocking fees do not apply to CGA remedies.

Not eligible for change-of-mind returns

  • Custom, cut-to-size, pressed-to-order, or made-to-order products (incl. custom machining/profiles).
  • Goods that are installed, used, modified, damaged, or not in original packaging.
  • Clearance or non-returnable items flagged at purchase.

Damaged, faulty, or not-as-described To lodge a claim under this warranty

  • Transit damage: please inspect on delivery and notify us within 48 hours with photos and order details. Keep all packaging until we advise next steps.
  • Assessment & remedy: where a product is faulty or not as described, we will repair, replace, or refund consistent with the CGA. If the failure is substantial, you may choose a refund or replacement.

How to start a return or claim

Please email sales@plyman.co.nz or info@timberman.co.nz with:

  • Product/SKU
  • Order/Invoice number
  • Reason for return (and photos if damaged/faulty)

We will issue a Return Authorisation (RA) and instructions. Unauthorised returns may be declined or returned to sender.

Important conditions

  • Returns must include proof of purchase.
  • Natural variations in timber/veneer (colour, grain, texture, figure) are expected and not defects; claims are assessed against the product description/specification.
  • Goods must be securely packaged for return; damage caused by inadequate packaging may void eligibility for change-of-mind returns.
  • Except where the CGA applies, our liability for claims is limited to the amount paid for the affected goods (this limitation does not reduce your CGA rights).
